I am aware that the trip A resets itself after a period of time after the bike is switched off. I can't recall what that time period is and didn't find the info in the owner's manual...

2016 GSWA broken topcase rack

Hi;

I have a GIVI OUTBACK 58 liter topcase mounted on the original BMW steel topcase rack. While driving on a rough trail road the rack broke. Had very little luggage weight but still it didn't held up...

I got it welded but I don't find it trusty and would like to purchase some type of rack reinforcement

Can anyone lead me to a supplier ?

Thanks,

Andre

Can’t make a decision.

So I'm up for a new bike this winter. I have narrowed it down to 2011 or 12 oil head. GS of course. Or a 15 or 16 LC. These bikes seem to be in simular price range. 10 to 13 k. Which is my budget. Any insight on these two bikes as a comparison. Have read a lot , early LC bikes seem to be coming down in price. I have 0 seat time on either as I have owned air heads only so either will be new to me. I'm 63, so maybe 3 or 4 k per year of riding.
Thanks

Free online route building programs

A month or so ago I stumbled across a thread talking about this but can't find it now. I am taking a three week trip and am taking a small Samsung Chromebook which can't have programs loaded onto it. I want to use an online program to create a route(s) on the fly. I could then connect via USB to my Garmin 550 to load the gpx with the online program or at least I think I can. I have tried this with Google maps and never been able create a route much less convert to gpx or upload.

Anyone...

Rally debut – Advise needed

Hi all,

I ve been an avid reader of the forum for some years now and came to consider it one the most reliable source of info and opinion, also loved the spirit of the posts ! I have this new project and i d like to get your guidance on it.

I ve been doing enduro riding for some time (single day or weekend events - think 200km per day in euduro like conditions) I want to start racing rallies in 2019, which is a new ball game altogether. I am attracted to the navigation aspect as well as...

Tug recommendations for twisties and highway cruising

Been thinking about buying or building something for highway cruising and spirited riding in the twisties. This means decent power at highway speeds, low slung (not a GS outfit), maybe car tires at some point, and steering mods on the bike. I don't want to mortgage my house so I'm not looking at older bikes, more than 6 or 8 years old.

I had been thinking about a K1300GT, which seems to be a popular rig. I test rode a Guzzi Audace which has great grunt down low but I don't think I could...

How about a “look what I found” thread??

After following the KTM Incas thread, as well as a few others that involve people finding "items of interest" and then posting them in here. Would it be a good idea to create a Sticky Thread that people can post their find in for other inmates??

For example i just found this.

Now, i don't want it, but it's a great bike and someone on here just might.

1976 Guzzi 850T3 Won’t start

I have a 850T3 barnfind that ran (although badly) when i got it.
I rebuilt carbs, adjusted valves, new condensors (points are fine) new plugs, new ignition switch and it gets spark on both cylinders. It has 180 lbs compression on each bank, fresh fuel, new ACM battery. It turns over fine, just wont start or run, only backires ocassionally on left side. I never adjusted the points or the distributor. It has 12v Emgo 5.5 ohm coils that test 5.5 on primary and 10.900 on secondary. Last time I...

Short Fingered Mens’ Gloves?

Held's in size 12 short (for short fingers) are never in stock anywhere. I've tried searching for BMW Two in One gloves which are supposedly the same glove. No one has them either in 12 short. Anyone know any other brands of moto gloves for guys with short fingers? I've already looked at Dianese and womens gloves but no luck yet. I wish my local tailors would shorten up the fingers on whatever I would buy but no one around here can do it, or is willing. Thanks.

Zite Goggles…

I'd like to get a pair of ZITE goggles.
I've been quoted a price of 375dkk which is around $65 USD to ship them to me in Arizona.

Any europeans willing to pick up a pair and ship them to me?
I'll cover your costs as long as the shipping is reasonable.
I have a hard time when the shipping is as much as the product.

They're around 66.33 EUR which is around $75usd

Suzuki TU250 – anyone seen/ride one?

Has anyone seen the new Suzuki TU250? :ear

A fuel injected 250 is great news to me. I wonder if it has enough power to get out of its own way? Seating position is likely cramped for a 6'2 dude.

krussell’s 1250GS

I’m a boxer fan. I’ve tried many other bikes, but no matter what’s in the garage, it’s the boxers that get ridden. I also enjoy being an early adopter, which led me to get in line for a 2019 GS at my local dealer a few days after the 1250 was announced. I’ll use this thread to keep track of ownership experience as it unfolds, and to gather input from the collective on stuff I'm considering.

Here’s my bike, on it's way home from the dealer.

well-made things you get pleasure from using

As I hung up my old Aerostich roadcrafter suit the other day after a ride, started thinking about how nice it is to own a few things that are so well-made that they last almost forever, serve well, and are satisfying to use or even look at because of how dang well executed and well thought out they are. Designed and put together by somebody who cared about it. My 'stich is almost ten years old and still just as good as the day I first got it. Expensive but worth it. You know, pretty much...

Wanted to pass along 4 to 5 k off 2018 GS/ GSA for this week only. Ask for Tom if you are grey headed, and James if you're a young one.
Edit they have RTs too and 1600 hundreds if you are into that stuff.

Formula E – The future of motorsports

Just started watching this series a few weeks ago on youtube and it's pretty excellent. Open wheeled cars that actually pass each other and don't get called for penalties when a little rubbing goes on. I also really appreciate that the future of racing uses very simple cars without traction control ,abs and use the same tires rain or shine.
For those not familiar with it, it's a spec chassis/aero package and the manufacturers provide the power/drive train. Previously the manufacturers...

2 Dirtbags in the SoCal & SoAZ deserts

This covers just the highlights from 3 days of dual sporting. The first two days did not have a lot of dirt miles but were fun. The 3rd day was fantastic with 80 miles of dirt including 40 miles of two-track.

We rode DRZ400s.

This was supposed to be a much longer trip but we cut it short due to rain and snow in AZ.

Tracks are attached
