Maritime recommendations please

Retired and looking. I'm contemplating a move to the Maritimes from Alberta. In all regards it's time for me to experience a totally new adventure!
I'm curious to know how active the M/C clubs are, the friendlieness, and acceptance of the locals to outsiders, etc. I have a lifelong interest in offload and street riding.I've traveled to the eastern province three times, and have so far spent the majority of my time in Moncton, which has impressed me. IE, I wish to integrate and be a part of...

950SE owners in OZ

Hey inmates, I am wondering if any of you lucky SE riders could give me an idea on the two following quesitons:

1. How many K's do you generally get out of a 30ltr Safari tank - based on mixed riding?

2. How many K's do/have you made it with the fuel warning light?

Video game addicts…

I've got a wad of birthday cash burning a hole in my pocket.

I've decided I'm going to burn it on a new XBOX game.

Off the top of my head I'm interested in Fallout 3 and GTA 4, but there's others that catch my fancy occasionally too. Help me decide. I'm kind of in the mood to add another shooter but with more depth than L4D and more gritty and less spacy than Mass Effect.

My current library consists of.

Ace Combat 6
Forza 2
Left 4 Dead
Project Gotham Racing 3

1290 SA Owners Thread

With the time getting close for the 1290 Super Adventure to land on showroom floors I'm thinking it's time to start a dedicated thread for those owners. I see one SA has landed in The Netherlands and here in the US they should start arriving next month. I believe only those of us, at least in the US, that put $$ on one early will get one this year, but maybe not.

What I would like to see here is where we are located, generally of course. What we plan to use our SA for, what we are...

Waterproof Gloves

Not sure where to post this, but who can go wrong with 1xx0 riders! - What is the thought for long distance waterproof gloves? I have ridden for 40 yrs, and the only time my hands stayed dry was with waxed cotton overmitts, just dont like them. Have a pair of Alpenstar goretex, great gloves, but not waterproof. Ideas ?

Anybody have a Moto Guzzi V7?

Well, I was testing out some big adv tourers (report write-up over in Beasts) and really liked the Stelvio. So that got me thinking about the rest of the Guzzi line-up and what I really want in a bike. I'm still up in the air about it all, but I have two Ducati Elefants for real touring/off-road duty, and it would be nice to have a modern (read: low maintenance) bike to commute on. I liked the Stelvio, but it was a bit too refined and very duplicative of the capabilities of my current...

Sex in Mex

My wife (@Paiged) and I like to get out as much as possible together but life and children can make big trips difficult. So we are especially pumped that we were able to carve 2 1/2 weeks out to explore Copper Canyon and Baja. Up until now we have only done a couple overnights together and this will be our first “big” moto trip together.

We planned on getting all of our gear, route, paperwork and bikes together over past couple of weeks. Well, a few days ago it hit us....

Air Traffic Control Specialist Challenge Collectors Coin

This isn’t motorcycle related here for my motorcycle blog, but for those that don’t know, I’m an air traffic controller when I’m not out riding my motorcycle! I designed this challenge collectors coin and had made for all past and present air traffic controllers (ATC). US Army, US Navy, USMC, USAF, FAA and DOD.

Air Traffic Control Specialist Challenge Collectors CoinThis Challenge Collectors Coin has a duel metal finish with a spur cut border. It measures 1.75 inches (44mm) in diameter.

Start your own “Challenge Coin” tradition with your friends, relatives, co-workers, group, club etc.

This would also make a unique gift for an air traffic controller or challenge coin collector.

This coin has been designed with all Air Traffic Controllers in mind. U.S. Army, USMC, U.S. Navy, USAF, Federal Aviation Administration FAA and the Department of Defense DOD.

Side 1.

Features an Air Traffic Control Tower, a RADAR Scope, TRACON/RAPCON, ARTCC Enroute Center and a Compass. Circling the coin are common ATC phrases that are used daily by Air Traffic Controllers. Circling the coin is the phrase “Air Traffic Controllers – Guiding Pilots, Planes and Passengers Safely to their Destination”.

Side 2.

Features a waving American Flag as the background with each governments seal/crest for the government branches that have Air Traffic Controllers.
